“Ethnographic Diaries: Capturing the Everyday in Crisis”

This podcast contains a selection of diary entries, written between November 2020 and February 2021 by 12 writers living in Lebanon. The aim was to create an ethnographic record of the intricacies of the turbulent times they were living through and shed some light on everyday experiences in extraordinary times. This selection comprises only a portion of the wealth of entries from our writers, written in English and Arabic, within the “Ethnographic Diaries: Capturing the Everyday in Crisis” project, initiated and developed by Muzna Al-Masri and Michelle Obeid under the ACSS Ethnography and Knowledge Working Group.
This podcast is one of two audio files. This one contains a selection of texts originally written in English, and the other, contains a different selection of texts written in Arabic.
