In September 2020, the ACSS conducted an online survey to better understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the social science and humanities community across the Arab region. The survey targeted those working in research institutes or universities with master’s or doctoral degrees or their equivalent in a social sciences or humanities field, as well as cross-disciplinary fields related to the social sciences or humanities. The survey investigated the impact of COVID on research and data collection, time spent on teaching and research, publishing, professional development such as attending conferences, caregiving and work/life balance.
