ACSS held its first Research Forum in Tunisia in May 2014. The meeting brought together grantees, fellows and ACSS committee members to share research findings and strengthen regional and global networks.
Participants were drawn from the three main ACSS programs: the New Paradigms Factory, the Research Grants Program on Inequality, Mobility and Development and the Research program on Producing the Public: Space, Media, Participation.
Dr. Hassan Rachik, a professor at the Hassan II University of Casablanca, and member of the ACSS selection committee for the Research Grants Program, gave a keynote speech on the ideologies of social identities. (Click here to watch the Video)
The ACSS Research Forum, which will be held every two years, aims to enable scholars in the region to become more familiar with research taking place in different countries of the Arab world, and develop comparative and transnational perspectives.
As the ACSS community grows in numbers and diversity, we hope it will be able to find new avenues for collaboration and discussion.
